I work at Open Energy Transition, a non-profit that builds and supports open-source tools for energy planning, such as the PyPSA models. I lead a team of five focused on integrated planning for renewable resources, and coordinate the projects below.
DemandCast
Hourly electricity demand for 184 countries, including historical series from 2000 to 2024 and projections under climate scenarios, built with machine learning and public demand, weather and socio-economic data.

Open Energy Benchmark
An open benchmark of the optimisation solvers behind energy planning models: how fast and how reliably each one solves representative energy-system problems, tracked release after release.

AVANGUARD
A Horizon Europe project building a free, open-source platform and data hub to plan and evaluate long-duration energy storage in the European energy system, for grid operators, developers, planners and policymakers.

I coordinate Open Energy Transition’s activities across the project and with project partners.

Clean firm technologies in Europe
A study using PyPSA-Eur, the open model of the European energy system, to assess what clean firm technologies — such as enhanced geothermal and advanced nuclear — could contribute to a decarbonised Europe.
My role
I coordinate the study and contribute to the modelling and analysis.
